Crunching numbers on rebound housing markets Zillow determined that Palm Beach's luckiest homeowners who bought in 2012 had the most price appreciation in the county. Homes are generally modestly priced in Lantana.
A coastal community, population in 2010 (US Census) was 10,423.
In January 2012, Zillow says the typical house cost $84,200; now, with a 77% jump up, it is worth $148,900. Homes in Lake Worth are up 74%, Lake Park up 73% and Greenacres up 73%.
Encompassing an area about 3 square miles, Lantana has an 8-acre municipal beach with 745 feet of ocean frontage. There are open picnic areas, an oceanfront pavilion, showers, restrooms, lifeguard station and playground area. The Town has four parks which encompass 12 acres and provide shaded picnic areas with playground equipment and restrooms; a recreation center with four tennis courts, four shuffleboard courts and a barbecue pavilion with a picnic area; and a two-acre boat launching facility capable of a four boat capacity with a parking area.
